Iowa Caucus Outlasts Kim Kardashian Wedding, Wreaks Havoc on Media

While Tuesday’s Iowa caucus was notable for the historically close finish between Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum, as the night wore on, the narrative also morphed into how these late results were wreaking havoc on the media itself.

At one point, CNN’s James Carville said, I’m trying to think about something that we haven’t talked about tonight.

Huffington Post chief Arianna Huffington seemed to agree that no topic was left undiscussed, tweeting,Hoping CNN will do in-depth analysis of why top 5 candidates have one-syllable first names.

Later she added, The big question for tonight: which network will win the Big Touch-Screen Map Arms Race?

Yet the night wore on and the race remained surprisingly, thrillingly close. This prompted CNN, MSNBC and Fox News to adjust their coverage in response to the close race, keeping their caucus teams on-air rather than feeding into post-shows or other schedule programming.

Meanwhile, their correspondents – as well as those writing about the media – took to Twitter to express feelings of wondrous vexation.

In need of Ratherisms for this: tighter than a new tube sock on a t calf?, NBC News&39; pKim Kardashianolitical director Chuck Todd tweeted.

While the New York Times&39; Brian Stelter joked: "Right after Romney finishes speaking, Santorum pulls ahead by 34 votes. That&39;s equivalent to the of ounces of coffee I&39;ve had today."

It was until just after 2:30 ET that Romney finally emerged as a winner, at which point everyone began to realize just how little sleep the night would bring.

CNN contributor and editor-in-chef of Red State, Erick Erickson: Been up since 3:15 am yesterday and back on TV in 3 hours.

Fox News’ Bret Baier, in response to a tweet asking how many hours of sleep he got, said 2 or so.

CNN’s Candy Crowley, likely delirious from a night of non-stop coverage, even tweeted her first ever shout out to an airport.

Yet if the night ran long and the coverage was exhausting, that stood in sharp contrast to some recent marriages.

KARDASHIAN TARGETED:A tax group is targeting Kim Kardashian. A new online video campaign is claiming the reality star only pays a percentage point more in taxes than the average person living in California. Kardashian reportedly made $12 million in 2010 and paid out just over ten percent to Uncle Sam while the typical California resident made $47,000 and paid just over 9-percent. The campaign is being used to bring attention to a proposed November ballot initiative to raise taxes on the wealthiest Californians.

BLOOMBERG & GAGA:Mayor Bloomberg is still going Gaga over his New Years Eve lip-lock with Lady Gaga. Reports say the mayor continues to gush over the kiss with the pop star. When asked about the magical moment yesterday, Bloomberg called Lady Gaga charming before quickly changing the subject. Despite the smooch, the mayor says he prefers to kiss his current girlfriend Diana Taylor.

MELANIE AMARO RECORD DEAL:The winner of FOXS The X Factor -- has signed a record deal. Melanie Amaro signed a $5 million contract with Epic records. That was her prize for winning the competition. Kim Kardashian invested in a personal trainer to achieve a more toned butt.

The reality TV star is med for her bulous curves, but she hasnt always been so confident about her womanly figure.

Kims personal trainer Jen Galardi works hard with the beauty in order to maintain a toned, yet natural-looking, frame.

Jen says Kim knew her goals before she started her exercise plan.

Before we met, Kim wasnt that keen on exercise and didnt really work out at all. Shes proud of her curves, but wanted her butt to be more toned, Jen told more! magazine.

Lunges are a great to work your lower half. Put one leg to the side, about 3ft from the other leg, then lean forward, keeping your torso upright.

Kim has an taut figure that is the envy of women the world over. However, the raven-haired beauty has her problem areas, which she combats with specific exercises.

Kim doesnt like her arms, so we added [tricep dips into her routine] because they are great for toning your entire upper body, she explained.

Sit on the floor with your legs out in front and put your hands on a low step behind you. Bend your elbows and push your bum off the floor slowly, keeping your abs tense and your knees slightly bent.
